Matrix’s Gate Switch is designed to minimize the risk on the plant floor in the event of a knitting machine switch failure. Workers are protected when the gate is opened to one inch and beyond, as the safety switch is activated, disengaging a running knitting machine.

The Gate Safety Switch was engineered to be adaptable to most knitting machines, while conforming to Industry standards. There is no user interface to operate the switch, and it prevents the machine operator from manually overriding the instrument with the gate open. Manufactured with a die cast rugged aluminum housing and steel operating arms, the switch also comes with a mechanical life of 1 million switch contact operations. Upon a one-inch gate opening, positive-break contacts assure circuit interruption upon actuation, allowing fail-to-safe operation upon switch failure.
