V5 System Requirements

This document outlines the minimum requirements for the hardware required to support the SG Systems’ database and software programs.

  • Server
  • Industrial Production Terminal / Mobile Tablets
  • Viewer
  • Remote Access

1 – Server

Each production location requires a server with Static IP to host the following applications:

  • SQL Database (MySQL 5.6 or MSSQL Server 2008 or above)
  • Database Administrator (SQL Workbench)
  • SG Systems’ Database
  • SG Systems’ Management Application (importing/exporting of CSV files will be processed here)
  • Ultra VNC (to remotely view Production terminals)
  • Java 8 (JDK and JRE)

Each Server requires a minimum specification of:

  • Windows Server 2008 or later
  • 2.8GHz Processor (Dual Core)
  • 320GB Hard Disk Space (10GB initial setup, 310GB reserved for database growth in 10 years).
  • 16GB RAM
  • Network Connection

2 – Production Hardware – Terminals / Mobile Tablets / Scanners

Each production terminal will communicate with the SQL Database located on the central server with a fixed IP address.  The following applications will be installed onto each Production Hardware device:

  • SG Systems’ Terminal Application
  • Java 8
  • VNC Server

In the event that a customer provides their own Production Hardware, the specification must meet or exceed:

  • Windows 10 (IOT, Pro or Home Edition)
  • 2.8GHz Processor (Dual Core)
  • 100GB Hard Disk Space (10GB initial setup)
  • 16GB RAM
  • Network Connection (Hardwired or Wifi)
  • 1024×768 Minimum Display Resolution
  • 1 x USB Ports (if Barcode Scanner is required)
  • 1-4 Serial RS232 Ports (if Serial Scale Connection required)
  • Barcode Scanners – Programmable for AIM ID and CR/LF suffix

3 -Viewer

The Control Center application can be installed on local user’s PCs.

Minimum Requirements are:

  • 300MB free hard disk space
  • 2GB RAM
  • Network Connection
  • Java 8

Recommended:

  • 64bit architecture
  • JDK8
  • Unscaled desktop resolution

4 – Remote Access / Support

SG Systems support a variety of remote connection methods.

  • LogMeIn Rescue (preferred)
  • TeamViewer
  • Remote Desktop Connection

Recommended:

  • Admin access to install software
